Ideally wait for two weeks after a possible exposure before testing for chlamydia or gonorrhea. The test we offer detects nucleic acids specific to chlamydia and/or gonorrhea. Often the nucleic acids are detectable in urine at five days post-exposure, but it can take up to two weeks; hence testing within two weeks of exposure may result in a false-negative result and retesting will be required.
